Funded project Tokyo 42 launched

Portfolio company SMAC Games is delighted to announce the release of their acclaimed game Tokyo 42 on PlayStation 4 in partnership with Mode 7.

Tokyo 42 is a hyper-stylish isometric open-world shooter. Framed for a murder you didn’t commit, you’ll delve into a world of assassins, deadly corporate intrigue and tactical cats. Spin the camera to see every angle of this beautifully hand-crafted micro Tokyo, as you discover a huge range of weapons, secrets and stories. Skillful shooting, bullet physics, sneaky stealth and crowd simulation all play a role in this ultra-colourful kinetic frenzy.

Speaking about working with the UK Games Fund, Maciek Strychalski said

“Support from the UK Games Fund was absolutely vital to making this game a reality. It came just as we were entering the hardcore production phase, where resources and stamina were stretched, and it pushed us through to content completion”

Mike Enoch, Head of Account Management at UK Games Fund, said

“Adding another great game to our portfolio of released projects is further proof of the value of the support we offer to the games development community here in the UK. SMAC Games have produced a brilliant cyberpunk adventure that we’re sure will be a big hit and an important asset to the company’s future growth.”

Tokyo 42 is available in the EU and US PSN regions now and will be released in Japan on Thursday.
