Project Category: Round 18

Sea Beyond

Sea Beyond is a narrative-driven underwater RPG from Fail Forward Games, set in a world inspired by rich Caribbean-Indigenous mythology.

You dive into a world spiralling into a climate crisis following the sudden disappearance of the Goddess of Fertility. This cataclysm has cursed massive wild beasts, turning them into dangerous forces of destruction.

You play as Fin, the Mermidd, a descendant of the lost Goddess. Despite your heritage, the deserted people view you with suspicion, blaming you for their misfortunes.

Your goal is to save the world by finding the Goddess and restoring the natural order, but here’s the catch: you cannot kill the creatures attacking you on your journey. Instead, you must learn to calm them down and befriend them by mastering a non-lethal gameplay loop where you level up, gain new skills, and learn the forgotten language of the old Deities to successfully calm, befriend, and recruit both people and animals.

Will you restore the climate, save the world, and earn the trust of the people who scorn you?
Planned for PS5, Switch 2, and PC.

Thingamajigs

Thingamajigs (Thing-a-ma-jigs) is Tea Imp Games’ unnanounced debut title.

In a nutshell, it’s a vibrant, hand-drawn hidden object game with a twist – each object consists of multiple stages, with each stage being both a mini-puzzle and a mini-narrative that advances as you solve each step. It’s a game all about telling fun, charming little stories that help players locate (and place) items across a highly interactive world.

It’s a simple yet ambitious project that aims to become the most relaxing part of anyone’s day. Something you could open up and it instantly wins you over with super-juicy interactions, uplifting and wholesome vibes, and a game loop that, while simple, amounts to something that’s much more than the sum of it’s parts.

Tea Imp Games is using the prototype fund to take the project from a first-playable prototype to a demoable vertical slice that they can use to start getting player feedback.
