Newly funded companies announced alongside the reopening of Expressions of Interest.
Eighteen new portfolio companies have now started work on their funded projects. Round 16 saw a surge in demand for grant support of up to £30,000 from the UK Games Fund for the commercial development of own IP games, with many new applicants coming to the Prototype Fund for the first time.
Round 16 Funded Companies

Kirsty Gibson, Head of Impact at UKGTF, said:
“Congratulations to our newly funded companies. Competition for Round 16 proved to be tough, with pent-up demand coming from our community over the build-up to applications opening. We saw many new applicants coming to us for the first time, some having been behind-the-scenes commercially successful and others being relatively new entities. All in all, the quality of applications to this round was of a very high standard and demonstrates the UK indie dev sector’s resilience, innovation and potential to contribute to growth.”
Expressions of Interest in our current opportunity to apply for a Prototype Fund grant are now open for submission for a short time, until review capacity is reached. Selected eligible companies will then be invited to complete a full application.
