The UK Games Fund has announced its latest cohort of funded companies, highlighting the strength, creativity and commercial potential of the UK’s independent games sector.
Following the reopening of applications earlier this year, the Fund has received sustained interest from independent UK-based games companies across its Prototype, Content and Starter Fund routes. The latest additions to the UK Games Fund portfolio include new Round 20 Prototype Fund recipients, alongside recently confirmed Content Fund companies. Further details of each project will appear in our funded companies section in due course. The Starter Fund 2026 companies, working across the Head Start and Fresh Start Pathways, will be announced soon.
The level of interest points to a vibrant sector, with studios and teams across the country continuing to create distinctive games, build sustainable businesses and contribute to the UK’s global reputation for creative value.
Kirsty Gibson, Director at UK Games Fund, said:
“The response to all of our funding routes shows just how much creative drive, entrepreneurial ambition and commercial potential there continues to be across the UK’s independent games sector. We’re delighted to support companies at different stages of their journey and to help them take the next steps towards sustainable growth, further investment, and long-term success. We look forward to sharing more in the coming months about the progress of our community.”

Prototype Fund Round 20 Companies
“The support of UKGF enables me to work with UK-based collaborators on far deeper engagements than I’ve been able to previously, unlocking a level of polish and rigour that would otherwise have been out of reach. This funding puts the project in the strongest possible position for the development ahead.”
