Since launching four years ago, the UK Games Fund has now run five rounds of funding and has supported over 100 companies. Each round has been adapted to better suit the applicants with our offering; from straight forward grants of £25,000 initially to the initial £5,000 award now part of Round 5.
“Having been exposed to the reality of pitching their project to a variety of interested parties means that each team is now better prepared for the official pitch.”
A total of 18 indie games development studios have today been announced as being selected for initial funding from the UK Games Fund. Based across the UK and representing the most diverse intake of funded companies to date, the projects to be supported range from narrative-driven PC games to AR mobile games.
The latest round of funding is designed to support early-stage projects that need further time for the development of ideas and pitching materials. Participation in the consumer games show later in the year provides a clear deadline, as well as the opportunity to gain all-important feedback from the public and industry.
