As 2025 edges closer, we take a look back over the past 12 months of activity across both the UK Games Fund and Tranzfuser in anticipation of what the year ahead may hold.
Back in January we saw four promising early stage studios come to DunDev, our month-long residential programme. All four studios turned up to DunDev ready to engage proactively, and all took away a wealth of professional experience and new contacts.
DunDev 2025 takes place in just a few weeks’ time with four hugely promising new studios coming to the city for the month of January. Watch this space for updates on how the studios get on!
Funded company growth
News of a bumper cohort of Prototype and Content Fund companies was shared in April. The then new Content Fund sees grant funding of up to £150,000 available for growth-oriented companies . The portfolio of funded companies has continued to growth since April with new projects listed here.
Speaking at the time of the announcement of newly funded companies across the board, Paul Durrant (CEO and Founder) said:
“Having both a Prototype Fund for early stage and a Content Fund for projects that can demonstrate immediate leverage has significantly increased our ability to support companies at different phases in the UK’s early stage games development ecosystem. We’ve seen how both these types of grant can accelerate studios towards success more rapidly than otherwise possible.”
Eligible applicants based in Wales are reminded that the deadline for expressions of interest in the Creative Wales Games Scale Up Fund close on Monday 16th December.
Tranzfuser Breaks Records
With a record-breaking surge in applications from UK-wide entrepreneurial graduate devs, a top-class selection of 19 teams were selected to take part in the summer-long Tranzfuser programme.
Four winning teams were selected for funding from the UK Games Fund for the continued commercial development of their game, with a further three selected to take part in DunDev 2025.

Portfolio News
The portfolio of funded companies continue to make headway with publisher deals being secured, investments announced and games being launched.
Recent launches from funded companies Crooks Peak and Club Cotton Games add to the growing list of portfolio projects available to the game-playing public.
