The start of the new year sees a new record-breaking intake of newly funded companies and projects.
Round 10 of the UK Games Fund attracted over 110 applications from independent game development studios and solo developers from across the UK. New to this round, applicants had the opportunity to pitch for a full grant of £25,000 for the commercial development of their game or the opportunity to secure an initial £12,000 grant with the possible addition of £18,000 further down the line.
Paul Durrant, CEO at UK Games Fund, said:
“Round 10 brings a milestone moment as our portfolio of funded projects passes the 200 mark. Each funding round has been carefully tuned to the needs of the UK’s early-stage games development sector allowing support in a wide range of different situations. With our continuing funding until 2025 confirmed by DCMS, we’ll continue to fine-tune our approach to maximise the impact our support can have, also learning from the many successes that have been triggered by our funding since we started in 2015.”
48 companies from across the UK have been selected for funding with the vast majority having started funded work at the beginning of January. Find out all about the new additions over on the Funded Projects page.
