With Expressions of Interest now open for both the Prototype and Content Fund, our portfolio of funded companies share updates of development progress and studio successes. 

As the UK Games Fund edges closer towards the monumental anniversary of being in operation for 10 years, the portfolio of funded companies continues to grow as ever more early-stage indie development studios based across the UK ready for submitting an application for grant support. With hundreds of companies in our portfolio, the UK Games Fund has played a small but often significant role in the sustained growth of the UK’s earlystage games development ecosystem. 

Here we take a look at a selection of updates from across the community of funded companies: 

Content Fund  

Third Kind Games and Silent Games have both announced details of their funded projects.  

Third Kind Games announced detail of their upcoming game, MAVRIX 

Empyreal from Silent Games will be released on 8th May on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.  

Prototype Fund

532 Design  

The first game from 532 Design Crowd Legends – available from the Apple App Store and Google Play – pits football lovers around the world against each other in daily matches, putting their player picks and team strategy to the test. Uniquely, match results are decided by the opinion of the fans who are playing the game. 

 

Evil Twin Artworks  

Victory At Sea Atlantic, the immersive World War II naval strategy game, will officially launch out of Early Access on April 25th, 2025. After months of refinements, new content, and player-driven improvements, the game is ready for full deployment. 

Miami Avalon 

A demo of Ascend is now on Steam to play and has garnered over 3000 wishlists so far.  

Polygon Treehouse 

Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island arrived on Xbox Gamepass last month and won “Best UK Indie” at the Develop Indie Awards 2025. 

The Secret Games Company 

The first public playtest of Bon Vivant is now running on the studios Discord server 

BAFTA Nominations

Funded companies Balloon Studios and Newfangled Games were both nominated for prestigious BAFTA awards.

More funded companies told us of company growth, surges in online communities ready to play the finished product as well as publisher deals close to completion. Far more news to come in the not too distant future from our talented portfolio!
