The UK Games Fund has reached the milestone of distributing over £12 million in grants, supporting over 450 companies.
The first cohort of funded companies as part of the Content Fund were announced this week.
Growth-oriented games development companies from across the UK are now working on their own-IP games with grant support from the UK Games Fund.
With funding of up to £150,000 available for the development of the project, the successful Content Fund applicants have demonstrated their potential to use the funding to grow and unlock other opportunities.

Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer said:
“Video games are a vital part of this government’s plans to grow the creative industries by £50 billion by 2030. That’s why we are supporting talented new developers to maximise their potential and turn their ideas into the next best-selling, Bafta-winning titles.
This funding will help them to secure investment and resources to scale up their businesses and create new jobs. Congratulations to all the recipients.”

Alongside the Content Fund announcement, another batch of early-stage companies have now begun work on their funded project as part of the Prototype Fund with each awarded grants of up to £30,000.

More information about Prototype Fund funded companies can be found here.
Paul Durrant OBE, CEO and Founder, UK Games Talent and Finance CIC, said:
“Having both a Prototype Fund for early stage and a Content Fund for projects that can demonstrate immediate leverage has significantly increased our ability to support companies at different phases in the UK’s early stage games development ecosystem. We’ve seen how both these types of grant can accelerate studios towards success more rapidly than otherwise possible.”
There are more applicants in the pipeline for both funds so those in our application system will be contacted soon.
