Jamfuser is back for 2020!

On the back of a hugely successful launch last year, we’re running the second iteration of our very own games jam – Jamfuser.

Jamfuser is aimed primarily at would-be Tranzfuser 2020 applicants. Scheduled to take place at the end of February, the 72 hour game jam will run online and encourages teams to come together (whether remotely or not) to produce a playable demo in just 3 days. For those new to game jams, a theme will be announced at the start of the jam around which the participating teams make a game in the short time they have. At the end of the 3 days, the teams upload their games to a specialist jam site where it will be judged by handpicked industry experts.

The winner will be announced at the beginning of March. Whilst there is no physical prize for the winner, the accolade of taking home the title of Jamfuser 2020 champ is a fantastic achievement. All teams that take part are given a unique opportunity to gain an accurate insight into the real world of indie games development, with a feel for what the upcoming Tranzfuser competition has in store.

Deborah Farley, Head of Talent and Outreach at UKGTF, said:

“Jamfuser has proven to be a successful and valuable step in the Tranzfuser competition journey for our community. Whilst our game jammers may or may not go on to apply to Tranzfuser, the benefit of taking part in the 3 day long jam cannot be underestimated for the up and coming games developers of tomorrow.”
