The UKGF Prototype Fund portfolio of funded companies have been experiencing a range of positive developments in recent months. Here we continue our look into the wave of continued good news for UK indie devs.

Market Movers

  • Last week saw the much-anticipated launch of Pine Hearts from Hyper Luminal Games. Pine Hearts is a ‘wholesome, narrative-adventure set within the picturesque Scottish countryside’. Having been selected for Prototype Fund support back in Round 7 and going on to secure a grant from the Content Fund, the game has launched to positive acclaim. With a metacritic score of 84% alongside industry plaudits, the cozy game looks to continue to impress.
  • Tales of Kenzera: Zau from Surgent Games was recently released with much media interest from mainstream media outlets such as Sky News and BBC Newsbeat.
  • Another funded company that saw launch last week was Harvest Hunt from Villainous Games (published by Neonhive). The game was funded as part of Round 10; “Harvest hunt sees the player take on the role of the Warden to protect the village of Luna Nova from a mysterious creature known as the Devourer. This stealth focused survival-horror roguelite, promises to have you returning again and again.”

In addition to all of this, many from our community are putting the final touches to crowdfunding campaigns and innovative own-IP releases outside of the UKGF funded project.

The Prototype Fund is now closed for applications with Expressions of Interest open for any future funding opportunity. See the website for more information.
