The UK Games Fund Team has been on the road this month; Mark and Mike have both presented at events in both London and Sheffield.

Mark was invited to speak at the PocketGamer Connects London on Monday 18th January. Now in its third year and already a well-established event in the annual calendar for games developers, the global mobile games conference saw over 1,400 mobile games delegates attend over two days. Having been asked to present at the opening track, Show me the Money, Mark was there to discuss what’s been happening at the UK Games Fund and how eligible applicants can apply.

“PocketGamer Connects London was an ideal platform to promote the UK Games Fund. We were able to engage directly with prospective applicants to the fund and potential industry partners for our upcoming UK Games Talent initiative. It was great to start the new year being involved in such an event and having the opportunity to engage with people face-to-face.” Mark Hogarth, Director

Next up, Mike travelled to Sheffield to speak at a Game Republic meet-up event. Game Republic, now in its 13th year, is an industry-led professional games network that supports and promotes the Yorkshire and Northern England games industry through networking events and business development.

“It was great to meet up with the members of Game Republic at an event hosted in Sheffield Hallam University last week, where I was able to share some details of our progress so far, as well as advice on applying to the upcoming second round of funding. Interest in the soon to be announced Talent scheme was also high, which bodes well for establishing a hub in the region with strong local mentoring support.” Mike Enoch, Head of Account Management

The UK Games Fund team will be hitting the road again in the next few weeks as we plan application workshops for games developers who are considering applying to the Fund. Dates and venues are soon to be announced so be sure to check back with us soon.
