Winner of the International Serious Play gold award, Archipelayo aims to set a new standard for games used to enhance physiotherapy.

Archipelayo is a series of mini games designed to be used by children, aged 6-16, with Cystic Fibrosis – a lifelong, incurable disease. The disease causes thick sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system which leads to multiple health problems such as repeated chest infections, shortness of breath and lack of proper food absorption amongst many others. To reduce risk, sufferers of cystic fibrosis must clear their airways through various Airway Clearance Techniques or ACTs.

Working with Project Fizzyo and Microsoft, Archipelayo has been developed to be used in conjunction with the children’s ACTs. The game is played using the Fizzyo sensor which is attached to the Acapella, a device used to aid the clearance. The sensor turns breaths into computer inputs which can be used as controls for the game. Regular physiotherapy can reduce the health risks of CF and improve life expectancy; however, the process is tedious and proper adherence to their treatment is poor. Archipelayo is designed to increase adherence and encourage proper technique whilst making the children’s daily, grueling treatments fun with a variety of minigames.

This Is Reality is a single player side-scrolling platformer following the couple Liam and Lana, as they navigate the highs and lows of their relationship. Their relationship is part of the game, where their level of cooperation depends on how connected they are.

Join them on their adventures through the city of London and learn how they can overcome the biggest obstacles as a team, whether it’s dealing with overbearing store clerks, or finding seats together on the tube. Make Way is a couch co-op top down racing game with a twist! Players work together to build a race course by picking and snapping together individual track pieces before racing against each other to see who is victorious.

Each round, the track becomes longer and more complex, as more track pieces and other hazards are added. It’s the push pull between constructing a racecourse that is possible to complete but also challenging enough that only the most skilled player is victorious.

Sovereign is a first person, magical realist adventure game, set in the fictional suburban town of Bridewell in England during the early ‘noughties’. The protagonist is a young teenager guided by Anthony, an ageing and unemployed ‘lost boy’ who has never stepped foot out of town.

Sovereign is a coming of age story, set within an ‘open suburb’ steeped in urban myths, local gossip and teenage rule; paying particular attention to the language, fashion and music trends of the time period.

Sovereign will present a realistic and sympathetic insight into the lives of British teenagers, remodelling familiar gaming genres and play styles to progress a deep and consequential story arc.

The player will engage in combat, exploration and puzzles, across playing fields, through homes and between garage blocks, with the aim of joining a group of waste-ground revellers for the best night out ever.

Werkflow Games is a new games studio formed by James B Stringer and Tom Wandrag and is based at Somerset House in London.

You play Julie, a student who after being exposed to NX’s experimental symbiotic device known as “LVL” gains special abilities attracting the attention of Zane, the notorious and brilliant mastermind behind NX who has intentions to capture Julie and weaponize her powers. Now a fugitive, Julie must uncover NX’s secrets while also battling a dangerous new enemy.

With the funding from the UKGF, we plan to update MORSE from its current tool Stencyl into Unity, expand the narrative and produce a vertical slice to pitch to publishers. Very exciting times!
