The UK Games Fund

UK Games Talent and Finance Community Interest Company

UK Games Talent and Finance CIC is a newly established community interest company that has been established to help develop the UK games development sector, particularly at the early stage. We are not for profit and do not have share capital.

We are aiming to boost the UK’s games business and talent ecosystem. We want our funding to create jobs, promote diverse new teams, enhance skills and increase the amount of new games IPs in the UK. In short, we’re working to support the UK’s early-stage games development community.

UK Games Fund – our first core project

We have secured funding from the UK Government to establish our core talent and titles support scheme for four years.

Grants will be provided to eligible companies with project plans where we think that the team and title combination has potential and can benefit from our support. Check out our How to Apply page. You will be required to apply online answering a number of key questions and providing full company details and associated data (each round may require specific information pertaining to that round).

We’ll be trying to turn around applications as quickly as possible but experience has shown this varies on a round-by-round basis. The rise in number of applications received has greatly affected the length of time required to carry out thorough and fair evaluations.

The UK Games Fund will provide grants up to £25,000 to help new and young games development businesses create working prototype games. On occasion we may provide a limited number of £50,000 grants to projects that are further advanced, to be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

UK Games Talent

We want to improve the way that talented individuals and teams can come together and create new and innovative games IPs and use the experience to:

a) showcase their talent,
b) learn about the creative business process and
c) use the project as a key part of their portfolio for either employment or self-enterprise routes.
